Bungoma North Technical and Vocational College (BNTVC) is a Government Institution under the Ministry of Education. It is located at Nabing’eng’e village, 6 Km off Kamukuywa - Kitale Road, Tongaren Constituency of Bungoma North sub-county. It was established in 2019 by the National Government in collaboration with the NG-CDF Tongaren Constituency as a Center of Excellence in Agricultural Engineering.
The College is staffed by the Public Service Commission (PSC) and is currently headed by one Principal assisted by two Deputy Principals. Admissions, registration and assessments of trainees are coordinated by the Registrar’s office. The office of the Dean of Students deals with students’ welfare and accommodation issues.
There is very close collaboration of the College with the Ministry of Education, State Department of TVET and the Regulator Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA), Kenya National Audit Office (KENAO) to ensure standards and quality of training as well as management and governance.
Currently, there are eight Academic Departments offering various courses at Artisan, Craft certificate and Diploma, which are examined by Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC), Curriculum Development Accreditation and Certification Council (CDACC) for Levels 3, 4, 5 and 6 and National Industrial Training Authority (NITA). BNTVC works in collaboration with National Polytechnics, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA). It also works with regulatory authorities like National Construction Authority.
Other non-academic departments such as ICT services, Performance Contracting, Guidance and Counseling, and co-curricular activities contributions are embedded in a Quality Assurance and Performance Management system to ensure that BNTVC graduates acquire the requisite skills, attitudes, and values with competencies to produce an all-rounded individual.
