Message From the President
Greetings to the vibrant community of Bungoma North Technical and Vocational College. As we navigate the current academic semester, it is imperative that we reflect on our shared mission to transform this institution into a premier hub for technical innovation and vocational excellence. Our journey is defined not just by the certificates we seek, but by the competencies we master and the character we build within these walls. As your student leadership, we remain steadfast in our commitment to advocating for a conducive learning environment that mirrors the evolving demands of the global labor market, ensuring that every student from the Department of Building and Civil Engineering to the School of Business is equipped with the requisite tools for self-reliance and professional success.
Regarding our academic progress, the Council has been working closely with the Registrar’s office to streamline internal assessment schedules and enhance the availability of library resources. We recognize that the core of our TVET mandate lies in practical proficiency; therefore, we are pushing for extended workshop hours and the consistent supply of consumables for our technical departments. We urge all students to prioritize their industrial attachment placements, as these are the critical bridges between classroom theory and industry reality. We are also in the process of organizing a series of "Industry Days," where local entrepreneurs and seasoned technicians will be invited to share insights on the "Blue Economy" and the "Digital Transformation" currently shaping Kenya’s economic landscape.
On the front of infrastructure and student welfare, we are pleased to note the ongoing improvements in our campus facilities. However, we remain cognizant of the challenges regarding reliable high-speed internet connectivity and the adequacy of recreational spaces. The SGC is actively engaging the administration to expedite the upgrading of the computer labs and the installation of additional Wi-Fi hotspots to facilitate research. Furthermore, we emphasize the importance of maintaining the "Nyayo" spirit of brotherhood and sisterhood. We encourage students to utilize the counseling services available and to participate in our various co-curricular clubs—ranging from the Drama Club to the Athletics Team—which are essential for holistic development and mental well-being.
Finally, I wish to call upon every student to uphold the highest standards of discipline and integrity. As ambassadors of Bungoma North TVC, our conduct within the community of Kimilili and beyond reflects the quality of our institution. Let us be proactive in environmental conservation within our campus and remains vigilant against any practices that may compromise our academic focus. The SGC’s doors remain open for constructive feedback and innovative ideas that can propel our college forward. Together, we are not just students; we are the architects of a modernized, technical-driven future. Let us remain focused, disciplined, and driven toward the realization of our collective goals.
Yours in Service,
Benjamin Musenjeri,
President, Student Governing Council, Bungoma North Technical and Vocational College
