LAUNCH OF DIGITAL HUB AT BUNGOMA NORTH TECHNICAL AND VOCATIONAL COLLEGE

I am honoured, this morning, to have presided over the launch of the Jitume Digital Hub at Bungoma North Technical and Vocational College in Tongaren, Bungoma County.These digital hubs are part of the Kenya Kwanza government initiative, aligned with H.E President William Samoei Ruto's Digital Superhighway Agenda. 

The primary objective of the Digital Hubs is to provide the youth with access to digital skills, e-services, and online Job opportunities.

As of December 2023, a total of 247 Digital Hubs have been installed nationwide. This initiative marks a significant development for the youth, opening doors to career and entrepreneurship prospects in the digital realm.

During the launch, I was accompanied by PS ICT Eng. John Tanui, PS BT Prof. Edward Kisiang’ani and Bungoma County Deputy Governor Jennifer Mbatiany. The event was also graced by Tongaren MP, Hon. John Murumba Chikati; Bungoma County CEC for Public Service Benedict Esiromo Emacar; the Principal of the institution, Charles Opiyo Awuor; Chairman of the Board, Henry Wati, and County Director of TVET, Joseph Sunguti.
